What Video Game Did I Play Yesterday?

Buddy and Lucky Solitaire (Lenovo Legion Go)

Yesterday, I was having a fun, but unfocused day. That led to my having RPG time too late to do the next dungeon in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, so I redownloaded a game I'd bought years ago, G-Mode Archives 06: Shijou Saikyou Miyamoto Julia. This is a Switch port of an old Japanese phone RPG, more like Zenonia and the other stuff I used to play on iPod Touch rather than a traditional JRPG. I'll have gameplay screenshots later, since this has short missions and is good for less focused RPG time. I bought this because it was stylish, though, so last night I was snapping screenshots of the neat menu screens.

I also tried Franky, Joe & Dirk: On the Tiles, a baffling Game Boy slide puzzle game with some Dragon's Lair art in it. This dropped me into a rabbit hole trying to figure out how to solve slide puzzles, which made me feel really dumb! At least it's not sokoban.

In the morning and afternoon, I played quite a bit of Buddy and Lucky Solitaire, but forgot to get a screenshot. It is solitaire, so cute as it is, I don't feel the worst about this.

I spent quite a while past my 30 minutes of RPG time on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team last night. I got a slightly longer dungeon with some story elements going into it, finished that, and got the intro to my next dungeon, too. I'm having a very nice time with this!

Before bed, I played a couple of rounds of Buddy and Lucky Solitaire, but I was tired enough that it went pretty badly. It's solitaire, though, so that's completely fine.

I wasn't super interested in games last night, but I got myself to turn on Cozy Organizer for some low pressure before bed gaming. I had an item vanish on me in the level I was playing, though, and since it couldn't be placed, the game wouldn't count the level as cleared and let me move forward.

From there, I thought I was too frustrated to get to sleep, so I went to play a round of Buddy and Lucky Solitaire and got relaxed enough to sleep in a matter of seconds. It was nice.

Yesterday, I got really fixated on a horror manga, Angels of Death and spent most of my potential game time reading between that and Hamnet. It wasn't a very uplifting evening. The true horror, however, is Disney Solitaire, the microtransaction scumming, cheating, manipulative mobile game I've been playing as of late. It's the first solitaire game I've ever played, though, so last night I wanted to play a solitaire game that would allow me to keep playing for more than 10 minutes without begging for cash. I landed on Buddy and Lucky Solitaire, which I'd gotten in a Steam bundle of cat games. It was cute, and though the ruleset, normal as it probably is for solitaire pros, threw me, it was a pleasant time. In the light of day, I realize I should have just popped on Windows Solitaire, but this was still fun.
