What Video Game Did I Play Yesterday?
Hidden Shapes Lovely Cats (Lenovo Legion Go)

I'm unenthused about posting tonight, so I'm about to give a couple of games short shrift. I finished Hidden Shapes Lovely Cats yesterday, which was a cute Steam cat puzzle game that overstayed its welcome. I liked the first half, but in the second half, it has players do the backgrounds of the first 20 puzzles. Most of these are just things like fences and trees, so it got really tedious. It wasn't a fun way to finish off the game.
Later, I tried Double Dragon Revive and had a really lovely time with stage one. This is a half price game brand new and looks it, but it is dumb, satisfying fun. I do not want a lot from Double Dragon. It is the off brand frozen chicken nugget of gaming. I know there is better stuff I could be spending my time on, but I wanna walk to the side of the screen and do some punching and kicking.

I'm doing a quick lunch break post today, which was easy considering that I didn't play much last night. I did three or four puzzles to press on in Hidden Shapes: Lovely Cats, which I should have done in the next few days.
From there, I just wanted to relax enough to get some sleep, so I played a couple rounds of Meteora's Mystic Merge. I got a couple more of this game's achievements, which was satisfying!

Even after trying to cheer up last night, I still felt super flat. Because of that, I only ended up playing games for fifteen minutes or so. I did a couple more puzzles in Hidden Shapes: Lovely Cats, as every puzzle finished brings me closer to this game's glorious end.
After that, I played Skycat a little bit, since I came across it while I was uninstalling Steam games I'd finished and remembered how cute it was.

My mood was still sour most of the day, but after getting stuck working late, I decided to rally. I got some buffalo wings, did a nice strawberry and almond milk face mask, and am looking forward to a day off tomorrow. I still don't feel great, but it's better to try to have a nice night than it is to just sit around and feel frustrated at nothing.
Instead of putting another RPG in my hour a night rotation, I played Tiny Tales: Heart of the Forest last night. I'm just trying to relax and finish some story based games, so a strange adventure/hidden object game fits the bill. My play session this was relaxed and mildly confused, like it always is with this kind of game, so I was happy.
Other than that, I was just messing around with games yesterday. I ended up playing 101-in-1 Explosive Megamix on DS for a while because I had one of these games on an iPod Touch and felt weirdly nostalgic for it. It's bad, but in a chaotic and interesting way. The random sudoku puzzles in it are pretty bad, especially for a timed game, but this is a game for goofing off, not serious puzzling.
I also played The Casino on Switch because I wanted to do some gambling, but don't have the nerve to actually gamble. I didn't know how craps worked when I started here, and I still don't, but it was a nice enough time!
To finish off, I chipped away at a few more levels in Hidden Shapes: Lovely Cats. It wasn't very notable.

Nothing I try to do is quite working today, so I had to fight general frustration to get myself to post. I just want to go to bed, but that's probably a bad choice before dinner.
Last night, I spent my RPG hour with Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Sword of Light, which was fine. I don't know if it'll make my rotation right now. I feel like I accidentally killed too many potential party members, just by not really knowing how things worked, and like I should restart the whole thing. It's not bad, but I wasn't having much fun, either.
Earlier in the day, I picked Hidden Shape: Lovely Cats back up and powered through to what I thought was the end. I then found out I was only halfway through to a small amount of distress. This isn't difficult or bad, just a little boring, so I'll chip away at it a little at a time.
On the same note, I did a couple of the hard puzzles in Zodiacats, too. I'm even less excited to finish this off, so I do not know if I'll work on it very steadily.

Last night, I tried to see how far I could get on 4 credits in Castle of Shikigami, and I did really poorly! It's almost like anxious exhaustion isn't a good state of mind for improving at a video game.
I was slightly more successful when I tried Hidden Shapes Lovely Cats, a calm, small scale cat themed puzzle game from Steam. I'm an easy mark, so I liked it, and it helped me get to sleep. It'll be nice to play more of this.
