What Video Game Did I Play Yesterday?

My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (3DS)

November 29th, 2025

For whatever reason, I really did not want to post today and ended up procrastinating a lot. It's snowy and I just want to be asleep. Yesterday was low intensity for games, though. I tried Card Storm Idle, a free clicker game for XBox, and kind of liked it. It's irritating that it doesn't have any AFK functionality, meaning the numbers only go up while the game is actively running. On the other hand, though, the benefits of prestiging and going back to the start are generous enough that it's not bothersome to have to prestige early and often. This is shovelware for sure, but I'm still mostly in favor of it. It was good background noise for craft time.

I tried Dragon Pinball on XBox, too, and truly have no thoughts on it at the moment.

Before bed, I played My Nintendo Picross: Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess for a while, too. I'm very pro-3DS at the moment, and this was a decent excuse to use one.

The wind was crazy in my area last night, so I didn't sleep well. I'm posting before work to try and have a relaxing time where it's ok to zone out after. Last night, though, I spent my very limited patch of freedom and alertness combined on Paper Picross, a 15-puzzle browser game I found on itch.io. If you're interested, you can play it by clicking on this sentence. I thought the visual style was charming, but some of the later puzzles felt like they depended on guessing to get started. That might have just been down to my being tired, though.

I did some more puzzles in My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, too, feeling like I made a real dent in this game's puzzle count. It's not a big accomplishment, but it's nice nonetheless.

I'm in Picross mode, so my apologies for how boring this blog is about to be. Last night, I did 10 puzzles in My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess because I felt stressed and the Zelda games have really nice music. I really felt good about my puzzle solving skills last night, and am excited to play more tonight!

Yesterday, I went Picross wild, which was very nice and relaxing. I started this with Picross S: Genesis & Master System Edition, which is still very okay. It's not the best Picross I've ever played, but it's not bad, either.

I played a few puzzles in Kemono Friends Picross, too, just to mix things up. I think this has a bit better variety than the Sega version, but I might just be playing this over such a long period of time that I don't notice doubled up puzzles so quickly.

After that, I felt like I'd been playing a bit too much Picross, so I set my Switch aside to do something else. Within half an hour, I had my 3DS out to play My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. It's a really solid Picross game, and I found myself fixated on it for hours yesterday. The giant Picross puzzle in this, where you fill in individual blocks on a bigger puzzle grid, is very satisfying!

Once I had the 3DS out, all bets were off, so I got my Japanese PS1 set up to play SuperLite 1500 Series: Oekaki Puzzle. It's much older than the other Picross games I was playing, and as such, is more bare bones, but it's still a decent time. It doesn't track mistakes, which adds a little extra challenge, but it's not bad! I'm interested in tackling all 500 puzzles here at some point.

Today has involved less Picross so far, but I'm still having a nice day off! I'll be back and posting again tomorrow.

My computer is so angry about being on this morning, and I can't say that I blame it for freezing up and refusing to work. It seems like a good idea. I played a small amount of My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess last night, but that's all.

I've been feeling so bad lately that, since I can't really make work less stressful, I can at least eat less junky fast food and exercise better. I vowed to myself that I would eat less after work Taco Bell desperation meals and go to the gym at leat for small bits of exercise, starting yesterday. I then, of course, had a fairly relentless day and got trapped an hour late. That didn't stop me from making some stir fry for dinner and running over to the gym, but it did make it all really exhausting.

Because of that, I struggled to keep my eyes open when I got to Dragon Quest X Offline. My friend super kindly helped me pick up on what I missed in the first part I played, and because of that, I felt good about what I covered last night! I was so tired, though, that I only made it through two text boxes before I gave up. Hopefully, I can do slightly better tonight.

Since I have to suspend Dragon Quest X Offline due to being a miserably slow reader in Japanese, I've lost access to most of my before bed relaxation games, also on Switch. Because of that, I started My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess last night. I cashed in some My Nintendo points for this before the eShop closed, and I'm really glad I did. Standard Picross that plays nice Zelda music is a good relaxation game, and I'm looking forward to playing more.
