What Video Game Did I Play Yesterday?
Fitness Boxing 2 (Switch)
September 13th, 2024
I overslept this morning, hence the late afternoon post. It's Friday, so I'm not too mad at myself.
Last night, I cleared Doomsday, the free expansion to Super Kiwi 64. The final boss level had a nice challenge boost without being too frustrating, and the item-collecting level just before that had nifty space Western vibes. It was a strong set of extra levels, and I'm glad I finally remembered to play them! Now I just need to steel myself to go back and finish off Toree 2...
I played my daily fitness game, too, with a light workout in Fitness Boxing 2. It was a little boring, and I really dislike the front-back step exercises, but I made it through.
I ran Merge Pixel for a lot of the day, too, actually making notable progress! I'm still not as close to the end here as I'd like to be, but since I'm just using this to focus, it's hard to care.

I'm trying to get the week off to a good start this morning, but do not feel like I'm approaching the task well. Yesterday, though, I did have a successful productivity aid in Wixoss Multiverse, which I left running for hours as I ran through my daily tasks. It was too play-intensive to use during a work day, since I'd finish a set amount of tasks every hour before letting myself play, but it helped me get through 31 tasks on my weekly to-do list, which is a new record! Plus, my tiny card girls have all sorts of fancy weapons and it makes me feel powerful.
I'm trying to get back to fitness games more regularly, too, since I'm somewhat getting out of whatever dreadful "curl up in a ball and nap" funk I'd been in. Last night, that meant I did a 12 minute exercise in Fitness Boxing 2 while I waited to go pick up Indian food, but it wasn't nothing.
I played another run of Balatro after my internet went out, too. It was bad again.
July 10th, 2024
I stayed tired yesterday, and am still there today, so this isn't going to be an amazing post. I did another daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2, which seemed longer than it actually was. My poor trainer deserves a change of clothes the next time I play, though!
I wanted to do a bunch of story stuff in Assault Lily Last Bullet W after getting my stuff for the day done, but I unlocked a new feature, got stuck in a tedious string of tutorials, and then lost internet. I was too zoned out to grab my Switch after that, so I just went to sleep.
July 9th, 2024
My power levels are low today, and that's okay. Yesterday wasn't a very exciting game day. I'm not going to post about my mobile games when I'm just doing my daily quests, but'll go back and forth on what I play with more focus for the night. I ended up trying the Samurai Shodown IV event in SNK: All-Star Brawl and got destroyed. With the level of time and focus I'm willing to put in, I might be able to better jump in on the next event.
I did a daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2, too, getting an achievement for number of punches thrown. I'd still like to 100% this game's list of achievements, but doing 100 workouts with each trainer is going to be a slog.
I also got set on clearing Merge Pixel again, leaving it running while my numbers went up. I hardly made any progress at all, but will admit that, even though I'm more chipping away at it than actually playing, I do think I'll eventually clear this by force of attrition.
July 6th, 2024
Help, I am panicking today! My only task for a dinner tonight is to cut a lot of vegetables, but my hands are shaking too much to cut vegetables! It is not an enjoyable feeling!
Games are ok, though! I am still slogging along in Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon, despite not really enjoying it, because the end of each 10 minute level has a cute setpiece like Tuxedo Mask spinning around in an office chair that keeps me playing. I think I'm halfway through now, and I might try to buckle down and get this game over with today.
Nothing else was that special from there, I got off the space station in Honkai Star Rail, but maybe should have stayed longer to do some sidequests.
I did a light daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2, too, since I felt kind of exhausted and didn't want to do more than that. It was fine, but I was tired enough that it felt really tedious.
I kept going in Assault Lily Last Bullet W, too, still feeling weirdly entranced by something being tied into source material I barely know. Gatcha-ing screen shots from a TV anime next to the more bespoke fancy illustrations is kind of charming.
Lastly, I played some more SNK All-Star Brawl before bed, trying to come to terms with this game's wild number of systems. It's not enough to make me quit, but there might be too much to this game.
My current interest level in being awake and continuing with today is zero, but it is difficult to get off the path now. Coffee's not gonna make my hand shaking worse, so I'll get caffinated and do my best.
July 4th, 2024
Happy 4th of July, other Americans reading this on the fourth, and a very nice Thursday to everyone else! I'm posting a little late today, but it's because I went to eat Indian food and go see a movie with my mom. We're supposed to have storms where I am tonight, so I'm not doing any big July 4th celebrations.
I am glad to have the energy to do a real post today, though! Last night, I kept going in Honkai Star Rail, which I started because a fellow Neocities webmaster, Gummy, is doing a Stream Elements collab with them for their Twitch. Their Neocities page is here, the Twitch channel is here, and the Honkai Star Rail collab link is here!
I'm liking Honkai Star Rail better than I thought I would so far. Before starting this blog, I tried Genshin Impact, and it left me feeling a little flat. The sci-fi set dressing and turn based battles here are way more to my taste, though, and I'm actually somewhat interested to see where the story goes. I do want to play until I hit level 8, to hit the stream bonus, but I also think I'll keep playing past that, too. I at least want to see if it lets me leave the space station!
In terms of more traditional gacha games, I also played some more of SNK: All-Star Brawl, having used my copious amount of early game pulls to get an interesting team. For games like this, I'll probably only post about them when I do something other than nabbing daily quests and login bonuses. I don't pay into mobile games, so my gacha pulls will be way too boring to fill posts. I did some story mode stuff last night, though, helping Kyo work through his family conflict, so it ended up being post worthy.
I also did my daily workout game session in Fitness Boxing 2, going that route because it seemed low maintenance when I scrolled through my Switch menu. Right now, I'm not really achievement chasing too seriously in this, but if I get through 100 workouts with Karen, my current trainer, that's an achievement in and of itself. Everything is progress!
As far as today goes, my eyes are super puffy and itchy, so I am going to use game access as a way to bribe myself into being even slightly productive. I should have another decent post tomorrow!
June 24th, 2024
I just got back from a weekend of food, shopping, and hanging out in the Chicago suburbs, and am a bit of a zombie after doing a long drive early this morning. It was fun, though, and a nice way to spend a summer weekend. I don't have work again until Wednesday, so I'm just going to kick back for a bit.
Yesterday, I was too busy to do a lot of gaming, but I built this little Nanoblock from a Spy x Family blind bag. I got it at Miniso, which I'm somewhat relieved has no locations where I live, and it's supposed to be Damien, one of Anya's classmates. It looks a little generic, but the school uniform is on point enough I can put him with some of my other knick-knacks and identify him. I do like how charmingly tiny this Nanoblock is, though, and am excited to build a couple of Sanrio ones I grabbed in the same size. Right now, he's over on my craft table in a gacha machine bubble before he goes on display.
I was set on keeping my exercise game run going yesterday, too, so I did do a couple of free workouts in Fitness Boxing 2. It worked pretty well with other people's music blasting, so I might experiment with that on my own. As fun as this game is, I'm not a fan of the midi versions of pop songs it uses for workouts, so switching it up could be really nice.
June 23rd, 2024
This will be a pretty quick post today, because malls and sushi lay ahead for me! Last night, though, I got to play some versus matches in SNK Gals' Fighter, with one joycon per player and the Switch standing up on a couch, just as Nintendo's commercials prophesied! The joycons are too tiny to be ideal controllers individually, but for a two-button game, they were good enough. I'd always wanted to play the Neo Geo Pocket fighters against someone back in the day, but no one else around had one. The Switch ports of these have made that tiny dream come true.
Right after doing my post yesterday, I also played about 20 minutes of Fitness Boxing 2. Stretching before a 4 hour drive was a decent idea, and one that I shall have to remember for the future.
June 22nd, 2024
I have a long and somewhat busy weekend ahead, so am doing a quick, early post before I get things started. Last night, I went to bed early to try to rest up, which I totally whiffed by then waking up once an hour every hour. Before that, though, I played a round of Balatro, briefly feeling confident that I had a winning strategy at hand. I left myself very weak to a boss blind that took my ability to score off of hearts away, though, and lost really badly. It was so my own fault that I'm actually still somewhat frustrated with myself.
I played my daily fitness game, too, going with plain Fitness Boxing 2 just for the brighter, poppier atmosphere. It was a pretty easy daily workout yesterday, which was great since I was playing during a work break.
As far as things go for this blog this weekend, things will probably be pretty brief tomorrow. Monday, though, I may have a pretty long post. Either way, I'm looking forward to the four day weekend ahead!
June 19th, 2024
After some errands a bit late last night, I built the first Lego I'd done for a while, and it was an honest-to-God brand name one, too. I'd been at Target to pick up a lawn chair for an outdoor concert next week and picked up the little five dollar Animal Crossing set, Maple's Pumpkin Garden. It's really cute, and I love the little villager minifig! It was less than 30 pieces, though, so it did seem very small for the cost. Still, it looks great up with all my little storefronts!
From there, I wanted to start a new, relatively quick game before bed, so I decided to do an all-characters run in SNK Gals' Fighter. I played this on original hardware maybe 20 years ago, and the Switch controls aren't as good at all as the Neo Geo Pocket Color joystick, but that's pretty forgivable, considering how good the NGPC was. This is still super fun. I started with Mai, and should unlock all the "secret" characters naturally as I go. I'm looking forward to this journey of headkicking!
For my daily workout game, I just did another daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2 to keep things simple. Poor Karen hasn't gotten to change her outfit in days, but her tracksuit at least looks comfy.
June 18th, 2024
Last night, I finished off the story in Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge, and wasn't dissatisfied with it. For now, though, I think I'm going to set it aside and call it good. It had a lot of slowdown and was getting a little buggy on Switch, with the final cutscene having the "congrats, it's time for free play mode" box pop up too soon alongside a text box seeming to sneak in out of order. It's very charming, and I like the environmentalist themes, so I wouldn't mind going back and getting 100% of the frog collection someday. For now, though, the slowdown is bugging me too much to be a completionist. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it gets patched.
I also did my daily workout game during a work break, going back to plain Fitness Boxing 2 to avoid fussing with the extra stuff in Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star under a time limit. It gave me the toughest daily workout I've done in one of these games yet, so I regretted my choice. It did, however, leave me feel like I was floating through support calls for the rest of my shift after that, which was an okay frame of mind.
June 11th, 2024
This morning, I couldn't get up and get going very easily, and I felt like this was a blow from which I would never recover. In fact, I did recover. I don't post about it specifically on here so much, but earlier this year I got diagnosed with Graves Disease on top of depression/anxiety, and all that on top of PCOS, and I'm so mean to myself about it! Basically, none of this gets in the way of anything, other than my just feeling very sleepy very often. This morning, though, I got up in time to go to work, but not to post before leaving, and I was so mad at myself! It was a really unreasonable feeling, which I realized a little later.
I'm here now, though, and it's not even that strange for me to post at night. I also have nearly nothing to report.
I finally finished the "play all songs on Fast speed" in Fitness Boxing 2, though, and felt so accomplished! It was more an achievement based in persistence than skill, but I was still pleased with myself.
After that, I kept going with Kamaeru, too, but didn't really feel like I got anywhere. That might just be how this game is, though.
Tonight, I'm more excited to sleep than to play a lot of games, but I picked up Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star and a couple other games in the current Switch sale, and am off to do some punchin' as soon as I'm done here. I'm more excited than I should be about it, but it's nice to have fun!
June 10th, 2024
It's Monday, but even so, I only have a four day work week ahead, which is nice. I had a lot of bad dreams last night and am super sleepy now, but I've got this!
Yesterday, I wanted something ultra-peaceful to play, so I picked up a new indie game, Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge. It feels more like a mobile game that's been made more playable for console than anything, and the controls feel a little funky on Switch. The little frogs you try to attract to the wetlands are so cute, though, and balancing the area you build up for biodiversity is an interesting idea. I'll probably keep going with this tonight.
I kept my streak going in Fitness Boxing 2, too, and should be positioned to get a couple more achievements out of the way tonight. I'm so excited to have the "play every song on fast" achievement done with that I'm eagerly anticipating tonight's play session.
June 9th, 2024
Yesterday wasn't a big games day for me! It was a really nice day. I did tons of crafts, read a ridiculous amount of manga, finished off a solo RPG I'd been chipping away at for the last few weeks, and went to a movie. It was good stuff, and I'm hoping today will be as good again!
I did keep going with Fitness Boxing 2, though, keeping my exercise streak going, but not clearing any in-game goals. It was totally fine.
I did a couple of disaster runs in Balatro before bed, too, not getting any further than ante 3. It was a nasty combo of bad luck and extreme sleepiness.
June 8th, 2024
Last night, I was digging through my itch.io bundles after another bundle purchase brought my game buying freeze to a wonderful screeching halt when I came to a realization: I could be playing all of the homebrew Game Boy stuff I'd gathered on my Miyoo Mini+. I ended up using a short Game Boy Advance visual novel for this, Love Corp: Lyla "Do you have anymore," because that was what I saw first after getting this idea. I was not disappointed. The game itself was short, oppressively dark, and kind of a surreal stream of conciousness piece, but playing it on my Miyoo Mini+, screen filter on, made me feel like I was in an alternate universe where the Game Boy Advance had a profane, politically inclined indie scene. It definitely became a case of the medium affecting the experience for me, but that in and of itself was very cool! Video games are neat.
Other than that, though, I was kind of doing the same stuff I have been all week. I had a very enjoyable Fitness Boxing 2 session that ended in me unlocking some new outfits for my trainers.
I also ran Merge Pixel for a lot of the day, but I didn't get anywhere in it at all. That was fine.
I don't know how good my post'll be tomorrow, as I've become set on reading Jujutsu Kaisen from the start to the last published chapter within a week. It's good to have sensible and productive goals! I'm sure I'll play something, though!
June 7th, 2024
Work is wearing me out way more than it should this week, so I had another unexciting game night last night. I did do great at Fitness Boxing, clearing about 3 achievements, chipping away at clearing all of the songs on fast mode, and getting pretty in-the-zone on one of the 12 minute exercises. I'll switch trainers to work on knocking out another achievement in my next play session, which will keep things interesting.
From there, I couldn't get myself interested in turning New Pokemon Snap back on, so I played a couple of pretty dreadful runs in Balatro. Even doing badly, though, it was still fun.
June 6th, 2024
Last night, my games were just more of the same. In Fitness Boxing 2, I'm still after the "play all songs on fast" achievement, as well as "Do 10 Free Exercises With Janice," so I played a few stages to chip away at both of those last night. If I play again tonight, I should be able to clear at least the trainer specific challenge there, which'll be nice. I feel like 100%-ing the achievements in this game should be doable.
I played Bucket Crusher a little more, too, but think I am only good for this game once every few weeks. Rather than helping me relax last night, it just made me feel distressingly bored, so I'm setting it aside for a while again.
June 5th, 2024
I was extremely tired after work last night, so, naturally, I chased a 12-minute, top difficulty score challenge in Fitness Boxing 2. I did get the achievement for it, and am pretty proud of that, but it wasn't evidence of good planning on my part.
From there, I did a few levels in the ultra-casual Bucket Crusher, as getting to sleep fast was more important to me than a high quality game experience. It worked like a charm!
June 4th, 2024
This is a quick post before work, since I'm somewhat spacey this morning. I didn't play a ton of anything yesterday, but did do a few runs in New Pokemon Snap, almost all of which netted me a new area for photos. This was so grindy at the start that I'm surprised how fast it's all going now.
I did some more achievement chasing in Fitness Boxing 2, too, getting another trainer's first set of goals squared away. It seems to me, going after all of this actively, that stretches count as exercises towards the achievements, too, making a 100% completion rate a lot less daunting than it initially seemed.
June 3rd, 2024
I failed to get out of bed in time to do a good post before work, but certainly, I'm ready to do a bad one!
I didn't play anything too wild yesterday, though. After dinner and before watching a couple movies, I played a few more levels of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, which is still very enjoyable. Everything feels good and responsive, play-wise, and the sprite art is really detailed and charming. This is fun so far.
Before bed, I played a little bit more of New Pokemon Snap, but I felt like I wasn't making progress despite playing in two new levels. The underwater special stage kind of bothered me, too. The little photo pod reminded me of the Titan submersible, and I kept thinking about what extreme danger my trainer was in over trying to snap a photo of a glowing Pokemon.
On the more utilitarian side, I did some achievement hunting in Fitness Boxing 2 yesterday, and was able to get three or four achievements down. Some were for time spent with trainers, and some were score/number of punches thrown challeges, but I felt productive nontheless.
I had Merge Pixel on for a lot of the day, too, and am well over the halfway point now. I am more sure than ever that I can eventually clear this game, especially since it takes no effort and barely any attention.
May 31st, 2024
It's the last day of May, and I think I did okay with games last month! I didn't buy any new games, which feels more important than it actually is, and I cleared five (admittedly shorter games) that I had on hand. One was on GamePass, which was great, but none were RPGs, so I missed the mark on that front. Still, I feel pretty good heading into next month, and am going to try for four games, with one RPG and one from GamePass, again. I kind of expect I'll miss the RPG mark, but the GamePass one seems super doable again.
As for last night, I am really fixated on Pokemon Snap right now! I meant to only play for a few minutes and went a little over an hour, which was fine. I hit a point where I unlocked a ton of new stuff, too, so I'm excited to dig back in and see more lil Pokemon doin' their thing!
I chipped away at achievements in Fitness Boxing 2, too, doing some free workouts with Bernardo, my current trainer, and seeing if I can square away the "play all songs on Fast" achievement while I'm at it. I only did 3 workouts, but that's about what I'd do selecting the daily workout option, too.
May 30th, 2024
I am not in an exciting spot with what I'm playing right now, but kept going with the same stuff I've been on pretty well last night. I plugged away at New Pokemon Snap, which was still very charming, but wasn't able to make any real progress.
I did a daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2, too, which was fine. I got an achievement while I was at it and felt somewhat accomplished.
May 28th, 2024
I didn't play many games yesterday, as I was tired and didn't really want to. Before bed, I started New Pokemon Snap, which has been on my shelf for ages. I didn't play enough to say much, though, other than that it is very pretty. I'll probably play more tonight, though.
I did another daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2 as well. It was still unpleasant, but better than the day before had been.
May 27th, 2024
I've got today off work for Memorial Day, and am very grateful for the day off! I was able to do some quick chores and errands before posting today, so I feel a little productive.
Yesterday, though, I was not terribly productive. I went to see Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, ate too many BBQ boneless wings from my freezer for dinner, and played XBox.
I hadn't explored GamePass for a little bit, so I downloaded a couple games to try them. First, I gave Little Kitty, Big City a shot, but it really didn't click with me. I'll probably give it another shot at some point, but cute as it is, the controls felt weird and it made me a little motion sick. To be fair, tons of games make me motion sick, so that's not really a mark against it. It just wasn't anything I wanted to mess with yesterday.
Later in the night, though, I downloaded Venba and played the whole thing in one sitting. It's a movie-length game, so that in and of itself wasn't an accomplishment, but I got really into it! It felt good when the solutions to the game's cooking puzzles snapped into place for me, and I felt like the combination of visual novel-ish and gameplay elements were paced really well. It stuck out to me as an extremely nice example of storytelling in games, and I might officially pick this up for Switch later.
Speaking of Switch, I did use mine for some utilitarian games yesterday. I did a short daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2, but felt kind of disoriented and had quite a bad time. I'm not going to give up by any means, and I'm glad I didn't give up halfway through. Still, working out sometimes sucks.
I tried to knock myself out with a few screens of Love Colors, too. It didn't really work, but it wasn't bad, either.
May 26th, 2024
I'm posting here this morning fresh off of writing up my to-do list for the week, and am maybe vaguely energized! Yesterday ended up being a day for tying up some loose gaming ends, which was very okay. I finished this month's event in Fashion Dreamer, and despite having really buzzed through it, I'm okay with setting it aside for a few weeks. The events lately have been just the perfect length to stop things from getting too tedious.
I did my third Fitness Boxing 2 workout for the week yesterday, too, doing another regular length workout and really regretting it by the end. Still, I felt at least somewhat good about myself afterwards, which is nice.
From there, I had a lovely time playing the next three levels of Yoshi's Crafted World, even though I'm not sure if this'll have my full attention next or not. Even on a game buying freeze, it's exciting to know how many lovely platformers I have stashed away to play!
Last, I just played a few screens of Love Colors before bed. It wasn't super exciting.
May 24th, 2024
I feel somewhat unsettled this morning because I slept through a tornado siren and my first thought was, "yeah, way to go, me!" I guess I'll order a weather radio today, as a break from counting down the work hours until my three day weekend.
As far as games go, I started a very cute and silly visual novel from my stash last night, Takorita Meets Fries. It's about an undersea princess who goes to land in search of new foods, and it has a very charming DIY feel to it. There's a little grammatical weirdness, and the story has felt slapdash in parts, but I'm enjoying it. I got two endings last night, and it looks like there's two more to chase tonight. It shouldn't be very complicated to get them.
I did pretty well at Fitness Boxing 2 last night, too, getting a couple of achievements and making it through the normal length daily workout rather than the light one. It made me feel powerful.
To end my gaming day, I got the fifth of sixth photo frames for the current event in Fashion Dreamer, too. I'll probably finish this month's event today or tomorrow, which I'm fine with.
May 21st, 2024
Today's post'll be quick due to my oversleeping! Too many new prescriptions at once is not fun!
I did some more missions in Fashion Dreamer until I unlocked another photo frame.
I tried Cooking Mama Cookstar for PS4 because I was tired and was surprised, as much as I've heard about it, that it was actually a functioning game.
I did a daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2 before my work day started, which felt very productive.
Finally, I had an extremely boring time with Merge Pixel. I might take a break from this soon.
May 18th, 2024
This won't be a very exciting post today. I was sleepy and my stomach hurt yesterday, so I only played casual-style games. Fitness Boxing 2 probably got the most focus out of me, and that wasn't a ton. I did a few free workouts just to get my third fitness game session for the week under my belt and called it a day.
I officially hit the halfway point of Merge Pixel yesterday, though, and am perhaps now even more determined to see this mind-numbing idle grind through. The daily login bonuses have really been carrying me here, in terms of currency boosts, so going back to the start of that 7-day cycle has been a temporary slowdown. I might leave it running across the room while I do crafts and chores later, just to get some sweet imaginary gold.
To finish the day off, I played Love Colors until I passed out again. It didn't take long.
May 17th, 2024
I'm scumming a quick post before work this morning, with a lot of relief that it's Friday. Last night, though, I cleared Super Mario Land! It gave me a lot of satisfaction to beat a game as an adult that I could not clear as a seven year old. It is a charming, strange little game, and I like how different the worlds are from normal Mario games. The horizontal shooter final boss had me swearing like crazy, though!
I kept up my quest to 100% the achievements list in Fitness Boxing 2 as well, switching trainers to get started on a new set of daily workout rewards.
Before bed, I also did a few screens of Love Colors, which knocked me out fast. I did wake up a lot from there, but getting to sleep was nice.
Lastly, I have my daily update for Merge Pixel. I made minimal progress yesterday, but might leave it running a bit more today. It's not like there's a lot of actual gameplay to engage with.
May 13th, 2024
I was knockout level sleepy yesterday, but still tried to do quite a lot. My biggest accomplishment was a Wal-Mart run, where I picked up a super cute Brickcraft tape deck, in neons with some MTV branding. Some of the non-Legos I've had feel a little funky to build, like they take too much effort to snap together. This was really nice and click-y, though, and I was so pleased that the little tape fits in the deck for display! For less than five dollars, I was pleased with this.
Games-wise, I didn't do anything too exciting. I think I have a consistent path through the second level of Altered Beast now, since I was getting to level 3 with a lot less effort last night. I'd still like to be taking less damage in level 2, but I will get there.
I did some free exercises in Fitness Boxing 2 as well, pushing myself over the 51% of in game achievements earned line. The second half is going to be super time consuming, though. It looks like it requires 100 exercises with each trainer. Since I do 2-4 a day, that will take a bit.
I kept Merge Pixel running, too, but thanks to daily login bonuses, had a major progress bump. I suspect that I'll be stalled out a bit on that front today, while my per-second earnings catch up to the upgrades I can afford.
May 10th, 2024
Yesterday, I had to take my asthma inhaler a couple times, which makes me very peppy and almost totally unable to sleep. Breathing is worth it, but today is gonna be a challenge. It's Friday, though, so it's okay.
Buoyed by pharmacuetical pep, I had a pretty good session of Fitness Boxing 2 last night. I'm starting to put together a long term plan to hit all of the game's achievements, and should get about three of them in my next session. It'll take ages, but since they're more of an endurance test than a skill one, I've got this.
I played a couple more scenes in Adios, too, impressed by both the genuinely conversational tone and the fact that I got to feed a horse an apple. The horseshoes minigame was confusing, though- I played the whole thing and am not sure how the controls worked.
My final game of the night was Merge Pixel, an Android play-in-browser game I was hoping would put me to sleep. It did, eventually, which was an accomplishment. All you do in this game is wait around and drag little pixel buddies on top of each other to form more "valuable" little pixel buddies, but it seems to have a clear ending and isn't very nasty about ads. I'll come back to this one.
May 7th, 2024
I'm doin' a quick post today, because I did a poor job of getting out of bed today! My main game yesterday was Yoshi's Crafted World, and I buzzed through three more levels.
I also did some free exercises in Fitness Boxing 2, getting a fitness game session in while working towards some in-game achievements.
For a sleepy-time game, I tried Threaded again. The puzzles aren't bad, but shortly after this screenshot was taken, I accidentally found the "erase all your progress on this puzzle" button. It's not a feature I loved.
May 4th, 2024
Yesterday, I played casual games only, but not in casual amounts. I spent a lot of time last night playing a cute little hidden object game I had stashed on my Switch, Tiny Number Hunt. One of my goals today is to finish it, so I'll talk more about it tomorrow. The whole game is just finding the numbers 1-9 in drawings, though. The numbers aren't super well hidden, but the art is cute and I felt like I could zone out nicely playing it. Since I was irritated about my internet being out, a laid back game was good.
I did a daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2, too, which went well. I unlocked some new clothes for my trainer after the session, which was very satisfying, so I'll toss her in them next time I play. Plus, this means I met my fitness game goal for the week!
I also played Love Colors for a few minutes, and my interest in it hit a sudden wall. Oh, well! I have other games to play when I need to get myself to sleep, so I'll switch to something different for a bit.

My May is not off to an auspicious start here. Last night, I played somewhat utilitarian games. I did a daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2, since it just seemed like it would be good to exercise. I'd like to try harder to play fitness games a couple times a week. They're kind of a time sink, with warm-up and cool down stretches included, but they're good for me.
I also continued to use Love Colors as a shockingly effective sleep aid. At this point, it's fine if it's all placebo. Being able to go to sleep easily is great.

This is a quick, late post for today. I'm super sleepy and have a doctor's appointment in the morning, so I want to go to bed early.
A new event, the Dramatic Fair, started in Fashion Dreamer last night, so I played that for a while. For this event, I'm using my very pastel guy character, to mix up the clothes I'm dealing with.
I did a short workout in Fitness Boxing, too, just to not give up on being active. Tonight, it's tempting to somehow try to do even less.
Tomorrow's post is probably going to be pretty similar to this, but I am okay with that.

I feel crummy today, and my browser crashed while I was typing a long version of this post. Here is a new short one.
Last night, I started Portal, off of a PS3 copy of The Orange Box, because my PS3 is in a cozier spot than my other systems. I don't know if anyone has heard this or not, but Portal is pretty good. This is my first playthrough because I'm on top of things.
I was tired yesterday, too, and told myself Fitness Circuit might help me feel more energetic. It didn't.
I also did a couple free workouts to help my achievement hunting in Fitness Boxing 2. That was actually fine, and since I did it right before bed, I could pass out immediately after.
It is a relief that today is almost over.

I'm somewhat inexplicably under the less-than-excellent weather, so I don't think anything in this post will really get the attention it deserves. Yesterday afternoon, I finished off About An Elf and enjoyed the last chunk of it. The storytelling framing of it was interesting, and I liked how strange it was, too. Some of the battle prompts felt a bit too "guess what we're thinking" to me, but the gummy bears, which stood in for extra lives, were plentiful enough that it didn't matter.
Anyway, I think this was more of a visual novel than an RPG, but it's written down in my "oh no, I have way too many RPGs" notebook, so I'm crossing it off and counting it on that front. I think the game itself would approve of this.
As far as fitness games go, I switched things up a little and played Fitness Boxing 2 yesterday, since I'd played it in the past and knew it would do different stretches. The game was so rude about my skipping out on it for 2 years, though, asking me if I'd been sick and promising to go easy on me. At any rate, I'm on a quest to get all of the achievements in this game's menu, and am sure I can do it.
