What Video Game Did I Play Yesterday?

Dead or Alive: Dimensions (3DS)

March 1st, 2023

Today is a lunch break post because I went and bought a latte to bribe myself out of bed this morning. I played Dead or Alive: Dimensions on my 3DS a bit last night, which was fun. I'm still moving through the survival mode stages rather than doing story mode, but it's enjoyable to make my character kick the other characters. The 3D effects are pretty impressive here, too, even though I do shut them off for a decent amount of my playtime.

I played Disney Tsum Tsum more than I should have, too, with all of this Kingdom Hearts nonsense still at a slightly mysterious level.

This is a quick lunch break post on a Thursday of a week that simply just does not quit going. I am extremely enjoying playing Wild Arms, though, and gave it another chunk of time last night. The dungeon I did split the three party members off onto their own little puzzle areas, which I thought was a neat idea, both for gameplay and character development. I know where the dungeon I'll hit tonight is already, and am looking forward to playing after clocking out of work and washing a monstrous stack of dishes.

After that, I played survival mode in Dead or Alive: Dimensions for a few minutes, because I wanted to kick some faces. It was spot on like Dead or Alive: Hardcore, so I had warm and fuzzy PS2 memories. It might have been a little too easy, but I was half asleep, so I didn't care.

I am up and going with some dread of my workweek today, but I at least successfully forced myself to take a morning walk. Since starting with this for the day, though, I accidentally hit a wrong key and messed up my web editor- the HTML codes are no longer color coded, and it's putting all of my conjunctions in purple, with some bits of text showing as yellow instead of white for a reason I can't quite figure out. Since I don't know what keys I hit, I can't fix it. It's not a cool start to a Monday. (Edit: This was fixed when I went to paste this entry into the September archive page.)

Games-wise, though, I started Dead or Alive: Dimensions last night, another game stolen from my old house. I played through a bit of Chronicle mode, and it was really fun. It's a bit lame that I had to play as Kasumi, since I think she's one of the less interesting characters, but that's no big deal. It works better than I'd expect an early 3DS fighter would, as far as I can tell.
