What Video Game Did I Play Yesterday?
July 2024
July 31st, 2024
I'm having trouble getting it together enough to have time for a long play session so far, but I kept up with playing Earthbound: Beginnings for another 20 or so minutes. I lost to what seemed like a mini-boss, and even though I keep my EXP and levels after getting knocked out, I'm stuck in a death loop since dying takes all my PP and I can't survive the trip back to my parents' house to see if home cooking restores that without a healing spell. I'm gonna keep trying, though, and see if I can buy enough healing items that crows don't steal all of them. Once I succeed at this, I'll go challenge the enemy that initially wrecked me again.
I kept clicking away in King of Prism Sparkling, too, feeling weirdly satisfied to see my rank go up despite that being due to patience rather than skill. I drew an SSR card of one of the skaters doing free gacha pulls yesterday, which is nice, but it doesn't really matter. Interaction with the different characters is pretty limited and impersonal, so while this is a good get in terms of stats, I don't have the impression that it matters which characters I got. I could be wrong about that, and this is still a new enough game that something might get introduced later. For now, though, it's a victory for numbers going up!
July 30th, 2024
In just 9 and a half hours, a work day that AI employee scheduling software has done its best to make very unpleasant for me will be over, and I am very much looking forward to that. Until then, I'm taking things one task at a time!
I played another few minutes of Earthbound: Beginnings last night, getting to the first town and taking an embarassingly long time to figure out how to use my cash card. Tonight, I'm gonna try to tackle the first quest/dungeon!
During my lunch break, I forced myself to do a daily workout in Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star, too. I didn't want to do it, but it wasn't so bad once I got started.
I kept going in King of Prism Sparkling, too, finally coming up against some of its limits as an idle game. I'd had such a long session Sunday morning that it was almost a relief to hit some "sit and wait" points last night. I gotta hire hundreds of idols to work at a cat cafe, for some reason, and funding such endeavors requires patience.
July 29th, 2024
Yesterday ended up being an okay day, but not a very big one for gaming. I did play another 15 or 20 minutes of Earthbound: Beginnings, which is still charming. I just want to level up a bit before leaving the first area, to make the stray dogs and angry farmers that litter the area less of a threat.
I saw an ad for a new browser based mobile game for the Pretty Series franchise in the morning, too, King of Prism Sparkling. I think this has gotta be the first game in the series released in America, so it's kind of a shame it's just a very elaborate clicker. The last King of Prism mobile game was a pretty full featured rhythm game, and this one doesn't even have any series music! Even though it is a letdown, though, it is more engaging than Merge Pixel, so I'll stick with it as my brain-dead between tasks game for a while. Plus, it seems to be using assets from teased but never made sequels or series extensions, sold off to a gacha mill, which is interesting in and of itself.
July 28th, 2024
I'm feeling a little better today, so I've spent a lot of the day trying to power through household chores so far. It's not too bad, and I'm gonna get myself a little fast food dinner as a treat. I've been trying to make myself nice bentos again, which has made it super easy to avoid takeout during the week, so I don't feel bad about eating some good ol' fashioned trash tonight at all!
This is a games blog, though, and I did play some games last night! I'm still trying to get something to stick for long term play, so I tried Earthbound: Beginnings last night. I still felt kind of detached playing it, but since I got to beat up a lamp, I'll come back to it.
I did a couple more puzzles in Sudocats, too, finally getting to the traditional 9x9 sudoku setup. It's still super pleasant to play.
July 27th, 2024
I am still feeling worn down, which sucks, but I'm making a super nice pot of stew for a family dinner today, with boneless pork ribs, root veggies, and ginger, alongside a bunch of other stuff I threw in the pot. It smells really nice, and I am excited to inflict it on everyone!
Last night, I gave up on trying to find a more expansive game I'm interested in at the moment and just decided to roll with some casual games with cats in them. I'm kicking this off with Sudocats, which is sudoku with cats. I like sudoku and cats, so it would be hard to screw this up for me, and the developers did not screw it up. Plus, if you put a cat in the wrong space it scream meows, and I think all sudoku games would be better if logic was thrown aside and the numbers angrily mewed at your errors. I'm looking forward to a couple more play sessions with this!
Other than that, I beat another boss in Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star, which was satisfying! I only have one more left on this difficulty, and I'll move up to medium from there. It's nice to have this kind of variety in a fitness game.
July 26th, 2024
I'm here and posting, but don't have a lot to say. I do not have the right vibes to play something for multiple sessions lately, so I just did a round of Balatro last night. I got about halfway through, as always, and went to sleep.
I did a workout in Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star earlier in the night, too, but had gotten sleepy again by then and had more missed punches than usual. It wasn't bad, but I was frustrated with myself.
The weekend is so close, yet so far away!
July 25th, 2024
I'm finally starting to wake up a little today, but was still lazy enough this morning to push this post back to my lunch break. It's not the worst thing, though!
I just played tablet games again last night, feeling baffled by the narrative complexity of Mary's Mahjong. The plots and subplots that unfold between stages feel like they have the potential to get out of hand, with backstabbing coworkers, pirate treasure, and a child at camp who doesn't know his father has left the family. The tile matching is solid, so there's nothing to complain about there. Mobile games just have such a weird vibe sometimes.
My other game last night was, yet again, The Tale of Food, and I actually did move one stage forward in the story mode! Small progress is still progress.
Aside from playing games, I've had it in my head that I want to draw some fighting game characters. I'm not very talented, so it's an interesting desire on my end, but I might format them as a zine or something and post them here. I'll see how it goes!
July 24th, 2024
Last night, I felt exhausted, so I just did a tablet game night. I think it's worth posting about and documenting casual and gacha games, just so there's a record of "here's what the day to day gameplay in these was like" out there. Last night, I wanted to play some mahjong solitaire, so I tried Mary's Mahjong, which is bright, sunny, and throws some city cleanup drama between the mahjong levels. I did ten stages before bailing for the night.
I went a little further than my daily missions in The Tale of Food, too, and feel like my character's little house is starting to come together. I need to get back to playing the story stages, though, so I can unlock other features. Maybe tonight!
July 23rd, 2024
Today is a quick post for a challenging morning! Over the weekend, SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos shadow dropped for a bunch of current gen platforms, as an announcement during EVO. I was excited to finally try it, since I'd wanted to play it for years, and had a nice time for the first few minutes! I didn't really have the vibes for a fighting game yesterday, though, so I didn't get far.
I played a very small amount of Disney Illusion Island, too, but was too tired to go much further into it.
I actually did do a decent job of things in Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star, though, doing a short daily workout and a couple stages of battle mode. It made me feel powerful.
July 22nd, 2024
I had a doctor's appointment this morning, actually meeting a doctor I'd only seen for "virtual visits" in person, and now that that's over with, I have it in my head that I'm gonna get a ton done today. In my head, I'm imagining myself crossing 30 items off my weekly to-do list, which seems unlikely. I could pull it off, though.
Last night, I put about another 90 minutes into Disney Illusion Island, which is still laid back and enjoyable. I fought the first boss, which was time consuming, but not stressful, and wandered through some previously blocked off areas after getting a ground pound ability. Even though I'm enjoying this game, it's maybe not interesting enough to go a ton into depth about it. So far, it's just an easy, relatively basic Metroidvania, and I don't really see that changing a ton as it goes.
July 21st, 2024
Today's post is kind of late, but that's just because I'm sleepy and trying to push through getting stuff done in a very scattered way. I went to a drive-in theater to see Twisters last night, which was extremely fun, but it was hard to sleep afterwards! It was worth it, though, and Sundays don't need to be high productivity.
Yesterday, rather than playing a lot of games, I messed with building toys and built an Entry Grade V Gundam model and a Nanoblock Gardevoir. They're friends now. I was actually kind of impressed by the entry grade Gundam. The snap together plastic serving for color changes rather than stickers was satisfying, and gives it a clean look. With Gardevoir, I am impressed by the level of detail with this kit, but I also think her arms will fall off if I so much as sneeze within ten feet of her. Nanoblocks have their drawbacks.
I played about fifteen minutes of Disney Illusion Island, too. It was fun, but not enough time to make any real progress.
July 20th, 2024
I feel super scrambled this weekend, but, even if it is because of doctor's appointments, I have a three day weekend ahead and am planning to enjoy it!
Last night, I was remarkably fried after work, so I decided to try Disney Illusion Island just thinking it looked cute and relaxing. It is, and in the first hour or so, has some "My First Metroidvania" vibes, which is fine! The jumps feel really good, and I'm looking forward to some more laid back exploring.
I did another playthrough on SNK Gals Fighters, too, with Athena being last night's competitor. I usually like Athena quite a lot, but in this, I feel like she's weighed down with gimmick moves that make her fiddly to play as. They're all pretty cute- I especially like her using Kensou as a shield and then throwing him- but it does leave her feeling "off" here to me. It's cool to have different takes on characters and their playstyles for different games, though, so I kind of appreciate that.
July 19th, 2024
I didn't have a bad day for productivity yesterday, and felt like I did a decent job at work. I didn't do great with games, though. I did a regular length workout in Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star, which wasn't so bad. Since I'm still feeling tired, though, I ended up feeling really sore and burnt out afterwards.
I couldn't decide on a normal game to play after that, so I fussed with The Tale of Food for a bit before bed. My party is still way too weak to take on the timed events, so I'm just going through the main story right now. The translation is very funky, with even basics like character names having some inconsistencies, but it's a relaxing time.
July 18th, 2024
I felt so tired after work and dinner last night that I didn't want to do anything, even play games. I pushed through some daily tasks I really didn't want to leave for today and, kind of on a whim, tried Breath of Fire on Nintendo Switch Online. I don't know if I'll stick with it, since I only played the first 15 minutes, but it seems fine so far.
July 17th, 2024
My internet came back last night, so I can include screenshots again today! This won't really make my posts better, but I'll be more satisfied.
Last night, I polished off The Mysterious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, which, aside from the story having some truly bizarre and delightful nonsense, wasn't my favorite hidden object game. The areas to find stuff in were so empty that objects were way too easy to find, and the puzzles between the hidden object scenes weren't great, either. I did keep going because it's hard not to want to see how a game where Mr. Hyde has a favorite puppet shop in town ends, but the story was what kept me with it. It was completely worth the $1.99 I paid for it, though.
I did a daily workout in Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star, too, which went a little better than Monday's had. Maybe if I just keep going, I can shake my tiredness.
July 16th, 2024
I lost internet in a lightning strike during some storms last night, so I'm doing a quick post from my phone this morning!
My gaming was not major last night, though, since I was a little fried after the storms left my area. I did get back into workout games with a quick daily workout in Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star. It was not fun yesterday, but it's no good to just sit around.
I kept going in The Mysterious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, too, concluding that I am probably almost done, but also that this game has no sense of narrative pacing.
July 15th, 2024
Yesterday wasn't a very big game day for me, since I did a movie and Trader Joe's run. The movie, Robot Dreams was good, and I'm going to eat like a very lazy princess all week, so my choices were the right ones.
I did make more progress in The Mysterious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and think I must be getting close to the end. Now that I've investigated Mr. Hyde's favorite puppet shop, I don't see where else this story can go.
I've also finally started unlocking some of the restaurant management features in The Tale of Food, as well as the daily quest stuff, making it a lot more fun. I made decent story progress alongside my daily quests yesterday, and am looking forward to playing more. I want my characters to have a very lovely home.
Today, I want to get back to playing fitness games. I'm kind of disappointed with myself for abandoning them, but I know I can get back to it!
July 14th, 2024
I'm really spacy this morning, but handling my Sunday morning to-do list organization well as I drink a latte and stare blankly at various notebooks and my computer screen. Last week, I kind of blew it with my weekly goals, but maybe I'll do better this week.
Yesterday wasn't bad, though. I'd gotten reminded to play some of the Anapurna games I had stashed in my backlog by reading the quarterly game report over on Skep's Neocities page, which is why I played Florence on Friday. Yesterday, I tackled Sayonara Wild Hearts, which had been in my Switch library maybe for five years. It was really excellent! I see people talk about the story and storytelling most often, which is totally fair, but also think it should be noted how much of the gameplay felt like Sonic, but only the good, loop-de-loop go-fast parts. Since the gameplay gets discussed less, I thought maybe that part of it wouldn't be as notable. It's so fun, though! Also, I feel like this should be pre-installed on every OLED Switch to show off how good the screen's contrast is.
Even though I'm marking this as cleared, I'll probably come back to it for some of the score challenges in the near future.
I built a little Nanoblock of My Melody, too, which was fun. She feels a little unsturdy, though. Her giant head is far too tall!
Before bed, I made some more progress in The Mysterious Care of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, too, which is really going off the rails in some delightful days. Last night, I hit some good old fashioned 19th century security cameras and color photography, including a lovely image of Mr. Hyde fleeing through a field of flowers in what seemed to be broad daylight, and also got to find objects in a botanical garden's dinosaur statue area, which I guess has gotta be a common feature of botanical gardens. This game is so goofy, and I'm really pleased with myself for having picked it up a few months back.
July 13th, 2024
I actually cleared a game yesterday, finally playing Florence. This poor game had been sitting on my Switch for ages, abandoned after purchase in a $1.99 sale, which was a totally undeserved fate. It was a short, lovely, and wordless little narrative game, pushed along by some fairly straightforward mini-games, and though romance was part of it, it wasn't really the point in and of itself. I'm so glad I finally played this!
From there, I pressed on with the very amusing, but considerably less lovely The Mysterious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, too. Hidden object games are ideal for shutting off my brain, so I'm not looking for much from this. Still, having all the object names spelled correctly, or at least misspelled in a non-baffling way, would be nice.
I'm still somewhat determined to free myself of Merge Pixel, too, so I kept it running for a while yesterday. I moved up a level and racked up tons of in game gold, so I am inching closer to the end. It's still pretty far off, though.
July 12th, 2024
I didn't kill it at being a productive human or games yesterday, so this may not be a scintillating post. I did play about another hour of Dive Alert: Matt's Version last night, but the battle system is so tedious that I just can't keep going with it. The story and pixel art in the story bits are cool, but the sub battles are so slow and boring that I'm calling it quits here. It's a shame that the submarine stuff isn't just a tiny bit more fun!
From there, I wanted to play a hidden object game, so, in a big twist, I played a hidden object game. I had The Mysterious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde backlogged on my Switch, so I started that. It's pretty no-frills, and has that tenuous grasp on logic that any game where people are like "there's been a murder! Can you find me two books, three rats, an apple, a brush, and a barrel?" will have. It's exactly what I wanted, though, so I have no complaints.
Today, I want to do better just in general than I did yesterday, so I'm setting the goal of knocking 25 things off my weekly to-do list. I don't know that I'll pull that off, but it's worth a shot!
July 11th, 2024
Yesterday was so bad that I think today has to be better by default. I skipped playing a workout game and doing Japanese reading practice because I had to rebuild a shelf upon coming home from work and finding it broken. I'd been thinking about submarine themed games at work, though, and started Dive Alert: Matt's Version last night, because it's very cool to play Neo Geo Pocket Color RPGs in 2024. In the early parts of the game, the submarine is so slow it's almost torturous, so I've gotta grind out money for some new parts in my next play session. The story was interesting so far, though, so I wanna see where it goes!
The Tale of Food was up in my mobile game rotation last night, but I got to it so late that I only played a few story quests before just folding and going to sleep. I need a better healer for my party for sure, so soon, I'll have to take a look at what the food boys in my reserve ranks are capable of doing. I just wasn't up for it last night.
July 10th, 2024
I stayed tired yesterday, and am still there today, so this isn't going to be an amazing post. I did another daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2, which seemed longer than it actually was. My poor trainer deserves a change of clothes the next time I play, though!
I wanted to do a bunch of story stuff in Assault Lily Last Bullet W after getting my stuff for the day done, but I unlocked a new feature, got stuck in a tedious string of tutorials, and then lost internet. I was too zoned out to grab my Switch after that, so I just went to sleep.
July 9th, 2024
My power levels are low today, and that's okay. Yesterday wasn't a very exciting game day. I'm not going to post about my mobile games when I'm just doing my daily quests, but'll go back and forth on what I play with more focus for the night. I ended up trying the Samurai Shodown IV event in SNK: All-Star Brawl and got destroyed. With the level of time and focus I'm willing to put in, I might be able to better jump in on the next event.
I did a daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2, too, getting an achievement for number of punches thrown. I'd still like to 100% this game's list of achievements, but doing 100 workouts with each trainer is going to be a slog.
I also got set on clearing Merge Pixel again, leaving it running while my numbers went up. I hardly made any progress at all, but will admit that, even though I'm more chipping away at it than actually playing, I do think I'll eventually clear this by force of attrition.
July 8th, 2024
Today, I am trying to stay cheerful and optimistic that a good week is ahead.
Yesterday, I definitely spent the most game time on Honkai Star Rail, even if I played for a bit less than an hour. I liked seeing how retrofuturistic a lot of the interior design on the train itself is and went to a very story heavy ice planet for my next set of quests. In fact, I got caught up in some story events that made it hard to quit right when I wanted to, but that's just how JRPGs go. Even a gacha game can fall prey to the curse of cutscenes!
I tried the last of the gacha games I downloaded while getting my new tablet, too, The Tale of Food. I don't know a lot about Chinese folklore, so I'm interested in that part of the story in and of itself. It seems fine other than that, too, and like progressing without spending might not be too bad here. Now that I've started all three of the new-ish gatcha games I downloaded, my next goal is going to be getting to a spot where I can spend out my energy in one play session in all of them, rather than having it topped up with constant levelling bonuses.
I played Samba de Amigo: Party Central as my workout game again, too, and really did wear myself out again. The "story mode" missions are fun, but I played too long and really wore out my arms. I might do something with a more traditional workout structure tonight.
July 7th, 2024
Yesterday, I relaxed and took it easy as soon as I could, which was great for my brain, but maybe not the best for blogging.
As far as playing a workout game goes, I tried Samba de Amigo: Party Central on Switch and felt like that fit the bill decently. I was feeling worn down before even starting, so three songs in arcade mode did me in, but I might start the story mode today. It was really fun, and there's no reason why a workout shouldn't be a good time!
As far as mobile games go, I played Assault Lily Last Bullet W for a few minutes before falling asleep. There's still too many events going on at once in this game, and it's a little ridiculous, but I'm starting to get a handle on the game systems and how I want to manage my party. It was an okay choice to zone out with.
Today, I'm so sleepy I can barely stand it, but I'm trying to take it easy again. I'd like to be productive, too, but it'll be fine if I'm not.
July 6th, 2024
Help, I am panicking today! My only task for a dinner tonight is to cut a lot of vegetables, but my hands are shaking too much to cut vegetables! It is not an enjoyable feeling!
Games are ok, though! I am still slogging along in Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon, despite not really enjoying it, because the end of each 10 minute level has a cute setpiece like Tuxedo Mask spinning around in an office chair that keeps me playing. I think I'm halfway through now, and I might try to buckle down and get this game over with today.
Nothing else was that special from there, I got off the space station in Honkai Star Rail, but maybe should have stayed longer to do some sidequests.
I did a light daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2, too, since I felt kind of exhausted and didn't want to do more than that. It was fine, but I was tired enough that it felt really tedious.
I kept going in Assault Lily Last Bullet W, too, still feeling weirdly entranced by something being tied into source material I barely know. Gatcha-ing screen shots from a TV anime next to the more bespoke fancy illustrations is kind of charming.
Lastly, I played some more SNK All-Star Brawl before bed, trying to come to terms with this game's wild number of systems. It's not enough to make me quit, but there might be too much to this game.
My current interest level in being awake and continuing with today is zero, but it is difficult to get off the path now. Coffee's not gonna make my hand shaking worse, so I'll get caffinated and do my best.
July 5th, 2024
I played a lot of games yesterday, so I'll get right into it here. Currently, I'm working towards clearing Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon, an arcade beat-em-up, on my Miyoo Mini+. I'm just playing this because I saw it browsing through the arcade emulators and like Sailor Moon, so there's nothing significant about this choice. In the first two levels, though, it's a clunky feeling game where enemies do unnecessary damage, although it is one with beautiful sprite art. I'll keep going with it today.
I beat my first big boss in Honkai Star Rail, too, and was kind of impressed by how nice and setpiece-y the whole thing was. If I wasn't worried about being at least mildly productive, I would have kept going in this, but it seemed to be introducing a new mode that seemed like it could be relatively in depth, so I ditched for the day.
From there, I wanted to mix things up for my workout game of the day, so I went back to Fitness Circuit, which I hadn't played in months. It completely destroyed me, but as I stood before my TV, dripping in sweat, it told me I could have a new outfit for my trainers as a special gift. That made it all okay.
The rest of my gaming for today was just in standard mobile games. I thought it would be interesting to pick some gacha games to document here when I got my new tablet this week, and one of my choices on that front was Assault Lily Last Bullet W. I didn't really think it would be good, but I was kind of fascinated by the idea of launching a mobile game for a one cour anime that aired years ago in a competitive marketplace. It was even messier than I thought it would be. Downloading the game resources took over an hour of starting and stopping, and once I got in, the amount of login bonuses it handed out was totally overwhelming. There's way too many events going on here at once! I shall embrace the chaos.
I also plugged along in SNK All-Star Brawl, but got too distracted by some new mini-games that unlocked as part of the story mode to get much further in the story mode. I only have a very simple take on darts so far, but it looks like more minigames will unlock as I level up. It makes as much sense as anything, and it's a cute little side mode.
Bribing myself to do things with video game access went well yesterday, so I'll probably do the same today. It leads to longer posts, but on the weekend, that's fine.
July 4th, 2024
Happy 4th of July, other Americans reading this on the fourth, and a very nice Thursday to everyone else! I'm posting a little late today, but it's because I went to eat Indian food and go see a movie with my mom. We're supposed to have storms where I am tonight, so I'm not doing any big July 4th celebrations.
I am glad to have the energy to do a real post today, though! Last night, I kept going in Honkai Star Rail, which I started because a fellow Neocities webmaster, Gummy, is doing a Stream Elements collab with them for their Twitch. Their Neocities page is here, the Twitch channel is here, and the Honkai Star Rail collab link is here!
I'm liking Honkai Star Rail better than I thought I would so far. Before starting this blog, I tried Genshin Impact, and it left me feeling a little flat. The sci-fi set dressing and turn based battles here are way more to my taste, though, and I'm actually somewhat interested to see where the story goes. I do want to play until I hit level 8, to hit the stream bonus, but I also think I'll keep playing past that, too. I at least want to see if it lets me leave the space station!
In terms of more traditional gacha games, I also played some more of SNK: All-Star Brawl, having used my copious amount of early game pulls to get an interesting team. For games like this, I'll probably only post about them when I do something other than nabbing daily quests and login bonuses. I don't pay into mobile games, so my gacha pulls will be way too boring to fill posts. I did some story mode stuff last night, though, helping Kyo work through his family conflict, so it ended up being post worthy.
I also did my daily workout game session in Fitness Boxing 2, going that route because it seemed low maintenance when I scrolled through my Switch menu. Right now, I'm not really achievement chasing too seriously in this, but if I get through 100 workouts with Karen, my current trainer, that's an achievement in and of itself. Everything is progress!
As far as today goes, my eyes are super puffy and itchy, so I am going to use game access as a way to bribe myself into being even slightly productive. I should have another decent post tomorrow!
July 3rd, 2024
I don't know why I'm doing so badly this week, but at least I have Thursday and Friday off! Anyway, games!
I tried Honkai Star Rail last night. The turn based battles are neat!
My daily workout game was Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star. I fought and defeated another boss, which was satsifying.
July 2nd, 2024
I was super unwilling to get out of bed today, and am not very enthusiastic about the idea of going to work, either. This will be a quick post.
I am in the mood to play some mobile games, so I tried SNK: All-Star Brawl last night. The gameplay's not scintillating, but the story is cute so far. I'll play it again for sure.
I used Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star for my daily workout game. My daily missions were pretty easy yesterday, so I did a free workout on top of them just to feel like I was doing enough to make the session worth it.
July 1st, 2024
It's the start of July, but today's post isn't going to be anything out of the ordinary. I finished the monthly event in Fashion Dreamer last night, and am ready to set the game aside for a couple of weeks again. I need to tackle unlocks from NPCs and level grinding in this at some point, but it won't be right now.
I did a 40 minute session of Walk It Out!, too, trying to get enough steps to unlock 25 event bubbles. I put a lot of streetlights and trees around the game's little island, and unlocked some songs, too. It said I walked in place 1.2 miles while chasing that goal, but since walking in place is not computing well for me, for whatever reason, I did a bad job at it and am mega sore today. It doesn't make sense to me that I can't figure out the mechanics of something so basic, but I'll keep trying when I've got time for longer workouts.
I did a little level grinding in Metal Slug Attack Reloaded right before bed, already having hit the game's first difficulty spike. I cleared the stage that was giving me trouble, though, and am ready to see my little soldiers get one-shotted in lovely new locales.
